Extermination

The “Extermination” audiovisual installation is dedicated to the Great Synagogue of Grodno. The Great Synagogue of Grodno was built in the 16th century, has been many times rebuilt and reconstructed after devastating fires, and was selected as a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. “Extermination” is a monologue about the history of the place and individual experience of a person in time and space, an attempt to perceive history through emotional perception, find the truth and catch the light.

The project was created in February–October, 2021, within the project “Preservation and Actualization of Former Synagogues in Belarus for the Benefits of Local Communities” with the support of the US Embassy in Lithuania.
