the LIEJYKLOS

project

The "Liejyklos" animation reel is created by the students of Visual Design and Media programm as a general assignment on animation. It is based on a poem by Josef Brodsky written in Vilnius.

The idea and design of this video inspired our colleagues from the Kiev Karpenko-Kary National University of Theater, Film and Television to create a video based on a work by Valentin Silvestrov setting Taras Shevchenko's poem "Cherry Garden" to music.

Each of the two videos sounds in its own way and yet both resonate as a kind of antiphon (from Greek ἀντίφωνον, ἀντί "opposite" and φωνή "voice").

The "Liejyklos" reel is a work of the students of Visual Design and Media program of the Department of Humanities and Arts. Project director: Irina Kodiukova.
